Position Overview

As a Specialist, Investor Services, you’ll play a pivotal role driving transformation as a key member of the Destination Development Team. You’ll support lead generation and profiling to drive tourism investment into Alberta, and help support the crafting of effective, engaging content and communication resources that enhance Alberta’s investment appeal. We're looking for an eager, proactive professional with a strong background in business development, investor attraction and familiarity with content creation and digital marketing—foremost someone who is motivated, adaptable, and driven to grow.
Furthermore, you will also provide essential support to the Investor Services Team in attracting and facilitating investment for new attractions, accommodations, and transportation solutions to enhance Alberta’s visitor economy. You will also support the execution of a content strategy that builds awareness and interest among potential investors for Alberta.
Your work will directly contribute to strengthening stakeholder engagement and communication—helping drive focused tourism development across the province. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone curious, collaborative, and ready to expand their impact.

Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Lead Generation Research and Analysis
Conduct desktop research to identify companies with expansion potential or alignment with investment goals; prepare briefings for leadership.
Assist in sourcing potential leads through social media, webinars, and sector research.
Maintain and update CRM systems with lead information and follow-up actions.
Monitor lead engagement and report on key performance metrics quarterly.
Explore new tools and techniques to improve lead generation strategies.
Support email marketing initiatives aimed at nurturing prospective investor relationships.
Manage internal action logs and coordinate follow-ups on priority projects.
Support the development of pipeline strategies for potential investors in Alberta’s tourism sector.
Stay informed about tourism projects and policy developments that could interest investors.
Investor Pipeline & Team Support
Develop client-specific pitch decks using relevant insights and market data.
Assist with planning itineraries, organizing site visits, and participating in client-facing events for potential investors.
Manage shared inboxes, route inquiries to the appropriate contacts, and ensure timely responses.
Contribute to delivering tailored services that meet the needs of prospective investors.
Support the team in adhering to internal policies and procedures.
Content Strategy Support
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to plan, create, and distribute content across various platforms (blogs, social media, email, etc.).
Research trends and audience interests to inform strategic content planning.
Support the maintenance of content calendars and engagement strategies to ensure timely, consistent communication with stakeholders.
Assist with editing and proofreading content to ensure clarity and quality.
Report on content performance metrics and support data-informed strategy refinements.
Education & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration. A combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Competencies, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business environment—ideally in business development, strategic development, sustainable development, or client services.
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance measurement.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with CRM systems and lead generation tools.
Demonstrated success in executing and measuring content strategies across digital and social media platforms.
A self-starter with a growth mindset, motivated, curious, and eager to learn.
Builds rapport easily and communicates effectively across diverse groups.
Experience working on cross-functional project teams.
Resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable conducting independent research.
Ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
Understanding of core business concepts, including international business and marketing.
